Mexico's Oaxaca Sierra |
 |
Singletrack through pristine forests and secluded mountain towns...
Rim Tours is proud to offer the mountain bike trip of a lifetime with both splendid riding and the chance to experience Oaxacan culture close up and first hand. We will experience the charms of the beautiful Oaxaca City on both ends of the tour and spend the middle 4 days and nights on our mountain bikes exploring mountain trails and villages.
The name Pueblos Mancomunados, meaning "towns that are bonded by people's hands", perfectly describes the spirit of a very special area. This huge Sierra constitutes one of the best examples of community organization in Mexico. Over 100,000 acres are owned and conserved by local communities, which have built an amazing network of pristine bike paths and singletrack. More than 100 miles of trail wind thru splendid forests and traverse the Central Valley, linking rural villages that specialize in a variety of crafts and art forms. Community owned eco-tourism services, and huts that offer simple authentic accommodations for travelers are part of what makes this trip memorable. The biodiversity, the incredible state of conservancy and cleanliness, world-renowned Oaxacan cuisine and the pervading influence of the ancient Mazatec culture create the perfect setting for an amazing mountain bike tour experience.
